Encampment Clean Up - 348th & 1st
UPDATE: We will need to reschedule this event for another weekend. After assessing the property, and the efforts it will take to get all the encampments cleaned up in this area, we want take a moment to ensure we have permission across all property owners and easements to do a thorough cleanup. This 6.7 acres has seen better days. It runs along the West Hylebols Wetland Park on S. 348th & 1st Ave. Large encampments has formed destroying the wetlands that borders this property. We are going to need a lot of volunteers on this one. Save the Date - Encampment Cleanup Sunday, April 24th at 10AM.
What's in these woods bleeds out into the streets and into our community. Let's work together to keep Federal Way clean and safe again. This is a great volunteer opportunity to make a difference.
Full disclosure, this is not for everyone. But it's a mess that needs cleaning.
We ask that you come prepared with good shoes with thick soles. Preferably hiking boots or trail shoes. If you have heavy duty metal rakes or pitch forks and thick gloves, that would help.
